About me

I once worked in the city, long hours as a project manager and after having two children, I decided on a career change so I would be at home more. At the same time my husband and I transformed our own back garden from a jungle of brambles to a garden with a lawn, borders for flowers and vegetable patches (with spaces for the children’s trampoline and treehouse of course). Having started to gain an interest in gardening at home, I applied to do a Garden Maintenance course at Capel Manor College, Regents Park and now I’m in the middle of a Garden Design course, I haven’t looked back!

During the lockdown I found I could still buy plants from my suppliers when my local neighbourhood had no access to garden centres, and their online orders weren’t turning up. I ended up delivering plants and compost all around Furzedown, Streatham, Tooting, Balham, North London and even Brighton, Isle of Wight and Milton Keynes (once lockdown had relaxed)! Everyone was so grateful, thanking me and sending me photos of their glorious blooms, brightening up their gardens and their gloomy days when not being able to go out.

I feel I provide a local and personal service, delivering high quality, good value plants. When I work in people’s gardens I always have a good chat with them to get an understanding of the garden, their likes and dislikes, making sure anything I tidy up isn’t a favourite plant! Often my clients tell me stories of previous ‘gardeners’ who came and chopped everything down, with no knowledge of plants, leaving clients with no flowers and very upset. This is definitely not the service you will receive from me. Once I’ve tidied up and we know the gaps then I can recommend suitable plants and ones I know the client will like.

What People Are Saying…

"I moved to Milton Keynes from London and Sarah was recommended by my London friends. I didn't have a garden in London and I now needed advice for essential plants for a small garden. It was now Lockdown and Sarah was able to look and talk about my garden over Zoom and guide me in the right direction. We spoke about what plants I might like, what I don't like and emailed me information, pictures and ideas which was so helpful to steer me in the right direction. Post lockdown I had a second consultation and Sarah delivered some plants (and planted them as I'm a rubbish gardener) and advised what to do for the next season coming up. Great service with a smile."

Sarah has flair and passion when it comes to her garden design work, and is never daunted by the scale of a project. She works incredibly hard, and has an extensive knowledge of plants and gardening techniques. Sarah sources a wide range of healthy plants to meet the needs of her clients. She is also creative, and can transform any space to become a beautiful haven for bees and butterflies. I would certainly recommend Sarah Reeder Gardens, and I look forward to receiving her ongoing help and advice in my garden.

- Harriet

"Hi Sarah, I don’t know much about you or how it happened that you came to deliver plants and compost for me, but I wanted to say a big THANK YOU. There are a lot people who end up doing things they don’t normally do, during this lockdown and it all makes a difference. Have a lovely weekend and thanks again. 🌷"

"We started using Sarah's services in early lockdown for seasonal planting and essential things like compost, It soon moved on to interesting pots which became available and finally to a panel of screening plants. Her helpful ideas and preparedness to delivery made al the difference to us."

- Kathy

I have bought a number of herbs and bedding plants from Sarah, as well as compost and manure. The quality of the plants has always been excellent and delivery/collection was convenient. When there were no garden centres open during lockdown and online stores were out of stock, Sarah was a life-saver!

- Jane

Sarah took the vaguest of commissions and created two lovely window boxes to brighten our front garden through the winter. She kept me informed about costs and choices as she pulled the design together and threw in free advice about some of the other plants in the front garden! I'd highly recommend her.

- Sophie

The go-to place for those budding gardeners who need bespoke advice. Sarah is both knowledgeable and extremely helpful, and she has a wide range of plants for every place in the garden. I'd highly recommend this home-run business.

- Adam

Highly recommend. My plants are still thriving and it’s nearly December.
Wide range of good quality plants and excellent service.

- Amanda

Sarah is passionate and incredibly knowledgeable about all things gardening. What sets her apart is her willingness to give advice regardless of whether it will give her a 'sale' or not. She has given me brilliant advice about my little garden based on what colours I like, where I'm looking to plant things and how much sunlight etc they would get. Even after selling me beautiful, good quality plants she still makes herself available should you need extra advice or help. This is not something you find often. Sarah is always my first port of call for any gardening needs.

- Jane

Found Sarah to be extremely helpful, reliable and delivered some wonderful plants in great condition. I would recommend her.
